CVS Week Of 9/4 | Happy Labor Day Weekend! Rolling Extra Bucks

Happy Labor Day Weekend Friends! Hope you are enjoying the weekend with family and friends! I made an attempt to get to the store and get a blog post up today instead of the usual midweek post. Hope this helps you plan your shopping trip this week! There are some good sales going on at CVS and I'll most likely make another trip this week so look for another CVS post this week. So I spent $13.42 OOP (Out Of Pocket) for $74 worth of products (with NO sales price, NO coupons)

CTarget | Scrubbing Bubbles Toilet Cleaner, Cascade Trial Packs and Rimmel Eyshadow

My Total OOP was $6.65 for $22.68 worth of products.

CVS Week Of 8/28 | $10 Gas Card

Although you may not be able to copy my idea exactly I wanted to share my scenario so you could see an example to help you put together your own deals and maxamize using those $4/$20, $5/$30, $10/$50 and whatever else combo coupons cvs sends out.

VONS | Cheap Gain Dish Liquid FULL SIZE 24oz and Double Coupon!

This week at Vons Gain Dish Liquid is on sale for $1.99, reg price $2.99 It gets better when you buy 3 you get $3.00 off making them $0.99 each

Target | Schick Intuition Razors, Cascade 4pk Action Pacs and Rolling Gift Cards

Right now at Target there are plenty of $5.00 Gift Card deals when you buy 2 of certain qualified items. Tonight I stopped in to get some razors and dishwasher soap. I had coupons for all 6 items...

CVS Week Of 9/11 | Time to stock up on Household Supplies!

Had a pretty busy weekend but I was able to visit CVS and do a little shopping. Again I might actually make a second visit this week but I gotta take a better look at the ads to see if there is anything else I need to stock up on. This is something I put together quickly so I could use my $5 off $25 coupon (transaction #3) I sent to my CVS card. Did you know CVS emails coupons weekly? If not sign up on CVS.com and you will start receiving them. I've learned that on Tuesdays they will be available on CVS.com once you log into your account and you can print or send them to card. The weird part? CVS doesn't email you until Thursday letting you know the coupon is available. So always check on Tuesdays to see if you got one or not.

Here we go I made 3 transactions as followed:

CVS Week Of 9/4 | Physicians Formula Deal & Mid-Week Visit Rolling Extra Bucks

Great news for those who like Physicians Formula Cosmetics. The current deal advertised in this weeks ad says Spend $10.00 on Physicians Formula and get $7.00 Extra Bucks, Limit 1. It gets better! Sometimes CVS likes to change the limit on things although the ad might say otherwise. Which is what happened. Anytime you shop at CVS and get your receipt, towards the end of it will print out your tally for that weeks current deals. That way you can keep track of what you bought for certain deals and if you have reached your limit or not.

See how I have highlighted in red the Phys Form Count.
It states Spend 10 Get 7 EB *Offer Limit Reached $19.98
Are you wondering how I reached my limit if I only spent $19.98 and not $20.00?

Here's what makes even better CVS will round up your dollar amount and print your reward for that deal. Earlier this week I purchased a Physicians Formula Mascara reg price $9.99 and used a $1.00/1 MQ (Manufacture Coupon) and it printed my $7.00 EB. When I went back today and purchased the same mascara with another $1.00/1 MQ it printed my $7.00 EB and showed on my receipt that I have reached the offer limit.

This is the case for any deals I have done where you have to purchase a certain amount to get a reward. Most times when you look for items to meet the quota it might be a penny off like the mascara and instead of purchasing that item you look for something that is over $xx amount and end up spending more so you can meet the amount for an EB (ExtraBucks) reward. Same goes for when I was doing the gas card deals this summer and you had to spend $30 to get a $10 gas card. Sometimes my total only came to $29.xx but it still printed my reward.

CVS Week Of 9/4 | Happy Labor Day Weekend! Rolling Extra Bucks

Happy Labor Day Weekend!

This time of year we are usually in Hawai'i enjoying the end of summer relaxing on the beach in Kailua. Unfortunately we probably will not be able to visit until next spring but I'm not complaining just patiently waiting.

So this week at CVS there aren't too many FREEBIES but there are still some really good sales going on. I'll probably make another visit this week since there are a few things I wanted to price check and put another shopping list together. Throughout the week there are many other things I buy from couponing but at times those sales are about to end or it might be a very small purchase so I often don't post those shopping trips. I think I will make an effort to post more of those purchases since I am set up to blog from my phone now.

I made an attempt to have my shopping list and coupons ready last night to be able to head out to the store this morning to get all my shopping done today and have this blog post up by the end of the day.

CVS Week Of 8/28 | $10 Gas Card

Long time no post, well it feels that way. Last week I did not have much time to shop and there weren't any deals on items I needed to stock up on so I stayed indoors out of the valley heat and enjoyed a week off from the stores.

This week I had a late start and didnt get to the store until yesterday (after I had $10 in register rewards and +up rewards expire). I am usually good about not letting rewards expire but it happens. I accepted the fact I lost out on $10 and moved on.

This week there wasn't anything I needed to stock up on this week aside for some Visine but I did have a few $4/1 Gillette Fusion ProGlide Power Razor and they were going to expire. I saw CVS included them on the gas card deal this week (spend $30 and get $10 gas) so this was my deal idea. Although the coupons I used expired there are some $2/1 coupons from last Sundays inserts. In that case it will be $6 more than my deal.

3 Gillette Fusion ProGlide Power Razor $9.99 sale price  $12.99 reg price
MQ 3 - $4/1 Gillette Fusion ProGlide Power Razor PG 7/31 (expired)
or
MQ 3 - $2/1 Gillette Fusion ProGlide Power Razor PG 8/28
Total $29.97 Pay $17.97

2 Visine $4.99 reg price

(Buy 1 Get 1 50% off)
MQ 2 - $2/1 Any Visine Product smartsource.com
Total $9.98 Pay $3.48

Total before coupons and discount $39.95

I printed my $4/$20 coupon from my extracare account on cvs.com Every Tuesday there is usually a new weekly coupon I can print or send to card (I prefer to print).

So anytime I'm using one of those coypons it is the first one I hand over to my cashier. Then I will give them my manufacture coupons and lastly any extra bucks.

Total after coupons $19.95
I had $10 extra bucks

So my total after all discounts, coupons and extra bucks

Total $9.95 OOP (Out Of Pocket)
and I got a $10 gas card.

It's like paying $9.95 for $10 woth of gas and getting $40 worth of products for free!

Although you may not be able to copy my idea exactly I wanted to share my scenario so you could see an example to help you put together your own deals and maxamize using those $4/$20, $5/$30, $10/$50 and whatever else combo coupons cvs sends out.

Have a great shopping week. I'm making an attempt to visit Target this week so I may have one more update this week if that goes well otherwise that's all for now.

CVS Week Of 8/14 | Rolling Extra Bucks, again...

I wasn't planning to shop CVS this week since there really wasn't anything I needed nor were there many freebies. Speaking of freebies is it me or is it getting harder and harder to find items in stock? I would love to get out early Sunday morning and do all my weeks drug store coupon shopping but I would rather enjoy my time with family and friends since time is so limited with work (not me but friends and family lol). CVS is great because they have rain checks on items but to tell you the truth I have never gotten a rain check. Although many times I have visited all the advertised sales are cleared off the shelf even if it's the first day of the sale. I just haven't come across anything I absolutely needed and was out of stock.... yet. I'm  going to have to make an effort to get to the stores earlier before all the shelves are cleared and hopefully try to update earlier in the week also.
This deal anyone can do. I was over in West Hills and stopped at the CVS on Victory (at Fallbrook) stopped at the Magic Coupon Machine scanned my card and it went crazy and printed 9 coupons. That's never happened before (sidenote: did you know you can scan your card up to 2 times per visit? just keep scanning your card until the machine says "No More Coupons For Today.."). I got 2 freebie coupons, 1 for Free Hershey's Caramello Candy Bar (Up to $1.19 value) and 1 for Free CVS Fabric Band Aid (Up to $4.29 value). Surprisingly they had the Gatorade G Series Fit Drinks, I haven't seen this at yet at many of my local stores. I know the CVS in Northridge (Reseda at Devonshire) has the G Series Fit 03 Drinks and G Series Fit 01 Energy Bites, Have you seen them any where else? Please share in comments.

Does Ralphs Grocery Store Double Coupons? Yes They DO!

I think many people watch TLC's Extreme Couponing Show and expect to walk out the store with $1,000 worth of products without paying a dime. Although I get in on great deals at the drugstores like CVS, Rite Aid and Walgreens on a weekly basis I have never gone grocery shopping and be able to do what they do on tv. I'm sure it's possible but I haven't had the need to buy 100 bottles of mustard or 500 boxes of pasta. I also don't believe anyone should be buying in such mass quantities unless they are really sharing and donating the surplus but that should also be done by pre-ordering your items at your store instead of clearing shelves and leaving nothing for others. That's just not fair. (end rant, lol).

Often I get asked which markets double coupons. From my shopping experiences Ralphs and Vons double coupons up to $1.00, but some only double the first 3 coupons. Double coupons doesn't mean your coupon is doubled in value. It means the store you are shopping at will double it up to a $1.00, so if your coupon is for $0.45 you will get an additional $0.55 off to equal $1.00. Again if you have a $0.75 coupon it will be doubled buy the store with an additional $0.25 to equal a $1.00. So basically whatever cents off coupon you may have the store will add a "bonus coupon" to equal a $1.00. It's always best to ask your store what their coupon policy is. I'm sharing my receipt to help those who are visual learners understand the math better with double coupons.

I may gladly add every Ralphs and Vons I have shopped at have always doubled all my coupons without any problems.  I thought I would share my trip to Ralphs today. The Ralphs in Woodland Hills (20060 Ventura Blvd at Winnetka) had a face lift and today was their Ralphs fresh fare Grand Opening so for the next 5 days they have a few specials going on.

This is what I picked up today. I wasn't intending on getting any meat but since it was 50% off all the rib roasts I picked one up.

4 Coca-Cola Soft Drink Select Varieties 12 pk $1.99 sale price $5.99 reg price
Limit 4 with Card

10 Bananas 4lbs for $1.00
with Card

1 Beef Chuck Rib Roast $5.10 sale price $10.21 reg price
with Card

2 Ore-Ida Frozen Potatoes Select Varieties 2/$5.00 sale price $4.79 reg price
with Card
MQ 1 - $1.00/2 Ore-Ida Sweet Potato Fries

2 Oreo Cookies Select Varieties $0.99 sale price $3.99 reg price
Limit 2 with Card
MQ 1 - $0.75/2 Nabisco Cookies or Cracker SS 8/7

1 Silk Soy Milk Pure Almond $2.79 sale price $4.99 reg price
with Card
MQ 1 - $1.00/1 Silk Soy Milk

4 Colgate Toothpaste $0.88 sale price $2.99 reg price
with Card
MQ 4 - $0.50/1 Any Colgate Toothpaste

After using my Ralphs rewards card, coupons and tax my total came to $24.33 for $74.98 worth of groceries. That means today I saved $50.65!

You can see on my receipt items I bought and the price before and after rewards card has been applied. After all my items listed are my coupons I used. The $1.00 coupons are not doubled but the cents off coupons are. I used 4 of the same coupons for the Colgate toothpaste and they were all doubled to $1.00 because Ralphs gave me a "bonus coupon" of $0.50. The best part about that is the toothpaste is on sale for $0.88 so after Ralphs doubled my coupon to $1.00 I got $0.12 overage for each toothpaste I bought. That means Ralphs paid me $0.12 a tube of toothpaste to take home. The last two coupons on the list was for the Oreo cookies, I had a $0.75 coupon and Ralphs gave me a "bonus coupon" of $0.25 to make it $1.00.

I hope this helps somebody in any way of what double coupon means and how it is applied at Ralphs.

CVS Week Of 8/7 | Rolling Last Weeks Extra Bucks For $10 Gas Card This Week

I ended up doing a little more shopping last week and ended that week with $12.99 Extra Bucks to use this week. I've done a gas card deal before but thought I would share this one since most of the coupons I used were printed off the internet. You will need access to 2 computers

This whole transaction cost me $2.87 OOP (Out Of Pocket) and I got a $10.00 Gas Card and $1 EB from using my green bag tag.

There is a coupon for $1.00/2 in today's Sunday paper but since I wasn't planning on picking any up I didn't have the coupon with me. Still I got an awesome deal on some cereal and snacks and got some gas too.

Before coupons my total comes to: $30.26
I used my $5 off $30 CVS email coupon, $9.40 in MQs and $12.99 EB from last weeks shopping my GRAND TOTAL OOP comes to $2.87 for $67.15 (reg price) worth of products and I got $10 Gas Card and $1 EB for my green bag tag.

Walgreens Week Of 7/24 | Gain Detergent and L'Oreal Sulfate Free Shampoo

I mentioned before I would be trying out a Gain Detergent deal at Walgreens. I've been wanting to try out some new shampoo this week Walgreens had a sale on the L'Oreal EverSleek line. The shampoo and conditioner were included in on the sale and the Register Rewards were not advertised. Also when I checked at 2 of my local stores neither had them advertised in store at sale price or that there were register rewards. So I grabbed 2 so I could do 2 separate transactions and get a price check. They scanned at $5.99 so they were included in the sale even though they weren't marked down in the store. I used a $2.00 in last Sunday RP 7/24 so I paid $3.00 and hoped a register reward printed, and it did!
So I purchased the second bottle and did 2 transactions.

Target Week Of 7/24 | $1.98 for Mossimo Jeans

This is a great example of printing a coupon and holding onto it for future use. About 2 weeks ago Target had printable coupons for $3.00 off any Men's & Women's Denim. They should still be available if you haven't already printed.  When I have extra time I'll take a peek around the store to see what's on clearance because you just never know. I saw these marked down to $4.98 from $19.99 original price. They were already marked down once to $9.98 but then dropped again. So after my $3.00 Target Coupon I only paid $1.98!

Well great thing I had this in my small coupon file that I carry with me for items I may be interested in or need to stock up and I know it's on sale. It's too much to carry my big coupon binder with me and knowing me I'll walk off and forget about it somewhere. So I leave the big binder at home and carry a small half fold pocket book in my purse.

I have never bought a pair of these jeans before but for $1.98 they'll be great for when I need to do yard work around the house and gardening. Hope you find yourself some clearance jeans. Good luck.

CVS Week Of 7/24 | $2.92 for 3 Banana Boat Sunscreen & 3 Softsoap Foaming Hand Soap

So remember the $10 Extra Bucks I made earlier this week (here)?

Well I was at the Reseda CVS on Victory/Tampa Store # 9615 and noticed they had a deal going on Banana Boat Sunscreen spend $20 and get $10 Extra Bucks. It wasn't advertised in the weekly ad or any of the other stores I visited so this might not be going on at every store but I wanted to share in case anyone needed to stock up and had this deal going on at their store also. The advertised tag said it's going on from 7/24-7/30 so there are a few days left. Even if this deal isn't going on at your local CVS it's a good example in rolling your CVS Extra Bucks so in future sales you can try out something similar.

This is what I purchased and below that I show and explain what coupons I had and used for my purchase.

These are the coupons I started out with

Earlier this week I got a printable coupon in my email from CVS for $5 off $25. They have started the option of sending the coupon to your ExtraCare Card but I keep better track of physical coupons than remembering I have a digital coupon so printing works best for me.

I also had a few Manufacture Coupons and combined that with some sales that had Extra Bucks back.

3 Softsoap Liquid or Foaming Hand Soap $2.00 sale price $3.49 reg price
Buy 3 Get $3.00 Extra Bucks
MQ 3 - $0.35/1 Softsoap Liquid Hand Soap SS 7/24
Total $6.00 Paid $4.95 Received $3.00 EB

3 Banana Boat Sunscreen $6.99 sale price
Spend $20.00 Get $10.00 Extra Bucks
MQ 3 - $1.00/1 Banana Boat Suncare Product 4oz+ SS 6/26
Total $20.97 Paid $17.97 Received $10.00 EB
My total before any coupons came to $26.97
Since I got over $25 I used my coupon I got in my email from CVS for $5 off $25 = $21.97

Then I handed my MQ's to the cashier which brought my total to $17.92

Lastly I gave the cashier my Extra Bucks. I always give these last because they are just like cash and you don't want to give your bucks back before coupons because that can bring your total down and sometimes that can conflict with the coupons you are trying to use (i.e. your total is less than the coupon).

So I had the $10 Extra Bucks from this deal and I also had a $5.00 Extra Bucks print out because I spent $50 in beauty and if you join the beauty club you get $5.00 EB for each $50.00 spent in qualifying beauty products and they also give you Extra Bucks on your birthday. Sign up if you haven't now, you can do so from the CVS website.

My GRAND TOTAL came to: $2.92 (not including tax) for $46.24 worth of products
I received $13.00 Extra Bucks ($10 from Banana Boat and $3 from Softsoap)

Now I have $13.00 Extra Bucks still remaining after my purchase earlier this week and this.
I hope this helps explain how I try to maximize my Extra Bucks by keeping them rolling every week. Some shopping trips wont be as great and there are many times I buy items and do not get Extra Bucks back but that's when I use Extra Bucks I earned to purchase things I might not have a coupon for or it might be an item that hardly goes on sale.

CVS Week Of 7/24 | $10 Extra Bucks & $10 Gas Card

I haven't updated in the last week because I have not been shopping much. Last week was a very dull shopping week and I didn't have any great deals to share. This week is a little better but I haven't any need for many of the items that were on sale. I'm probably won't be doing a Keep It Under $5.00 Deal Ideas for any of the stores this week. I will be heading out to Walgreens tomorrow to score some Gain Detergent but I'll share that tomorrow after I get back from the store.

I realize not everyone can do this deal but I wanted to share a deal I did this week to give you ideas for future deals. Anyone can make a great deal it's just about planning out your shopping trip and doing a little math.

This week at CVS there is a $10 Extra Bucks deal when you purchase $20 in Playtex and Schick Products. Also there is a gas deal going on when you spend $30 on selected items.

To begin with I already had $8.00 EB from my previous weeks shopping trip.
I also got a coupon in an email from CVS for $5 off when you spend $25.
There are no longer any $1.50 off Skintimate printables

2 - Schick ST2 12 pack $8.99
MQ 1 - B1G1 Free Schick Disposable Razors from SS 6/26

2 - Edge Skintimate Shave Gels or Cream (excludes travel size) $2.19
MQ 2 - $1.50 Off any Skintimate Shave Gel Printable (no longer available for print)
or MQ 2 - 1.00/1 Edge Shave Cream from SS 7/24

12 - Aussie or Herbal Essence Shampoo, Conditioner or Styler 2/$4.97

MQ 4 - $3.00/1 Herbal Essences or Aussie Styler wyb Herbal or Aussie Product PG 7/3
MQ 4 - $1.00/1 Herbal Essences or Aussie Product from RP 6/12

Total before coupons $52.18
Total after coupons $14.19 OOP (Out of Pocket) and
Received $10.00 EB (Extra Bucks) AND $10.00 Gas Card = $5.81 Money Maker

I was basically paid $5.81 for $84.64 worth of products!

I hope this helps you to get ideas for other deals. If you sign up for emails from CVS they usually send out weekly coupons for $5/$25 and $4/20 coupons so log into your account and check to make sure you are signed up for those.

Rite-Aid Week Of 6/26 | Keep It Under $5.00 Deal Ideas

These are a few deals available at Rite-Aid this week. Each transaction cost me under $5.00 and I’ve explained which coupons I used in each transactioni. Rite-Aid does not limit on the amount of +Up Rewards you use just like CVS you can apply to your total before taxes.

Let me explain that in the first transaction you will notice I used 2 Store Coupons and a Manufacture Coupon. A cashier might tell you that you cannot use them, that is fine ask for the manager (it's what I had to do). The first SQ was from the store ad and the other was from Rite-Aid Adperk website.  These can be used in combination along with a MQ.  My cashier did not know I could use them all for one product and asked another cashier with her confirming the same. I kindly told her they should be fine and work since the first two are from Rite-Aid. She called the store manager and he quickly confirmed it will be fine and if any didn't scan to put the numbers in manually. I don't mind when the cashier disagrees with me and calls a manager for help. I wouldn't bother to try if I new it was against their policy so usually the cashier gets educated and hopefully it is forever engrained in their minds so if I ever run into them again I should have no problems.
